You start by purchasing a Base License and then add Hardware License Packs (HLPs) to meet your hardware count requirements.

Base License includes your first 100 hardware and first year of BAM.

HLPs are packs of 10 hardware licenses.

We define hardware as a collection of devices. For example, one “hardware” can contain several devices such as a camera, inputs, outputs, metadata, speakers and microphones. 

This is important because we license based on the number of hardware within your system.

You will need a license for each hardware unique ID that you are managing across all all your sites.  A good rule of thumb is to match the number of hardware licenses on your Milestone XProtect SLC(s).

All hardware needs a license regardless of whether it is enabled or disabled. 

However, if you are are recording the same camera to more than one recording server at a time, you will need to buy one license for each recording server.

Boring Annual Maintenance (BAM), is our version of software maintenance.  With your current BAM coverage, you will have access to all software upgrades, patches, and Boring support.

Yes!  Each base license of Boring Toolbox includes the first year of Boring Annual Maintenance (BAM).

Yes, you can buy 1, 3, and 5 years of BAM at the time of purchase.

As your Milestone XProtect VMS grows you can purchase additional Hardware License Packs (HLPs) to align your Boring license to your Milestone.  

This will extend your BAM renewal date or you can choose your own renewal date.
